Burlap embroidery is one of my favorite types of hand embroidery with yarn. Not only do you get to use soft and fluffy wool and acrylic yarns (my favorite kind of warm and cozy threads) but all kinds of beads and rhinestones to jazz up your creation. I love what it does to the visual appeal of your embroidered piece - a wonderful combo of a variety of textures - matte and shiny, soft and hard - metal, thread, and bead.
